With E3 just right around the corner, there’s so much being said and so much to speculate as to what to look forward to in these next upcoming days. Of course returning to the conferences will be EA, Sony, Microsoft, PC Gaming show, Ubisoft, Bethesda, and last but not least is Nintendo’s Treehouse. Here are some games expected at E3!
Many Bioware fans are strongly expecting to see some more news about Mass Effect: Andromeda. We’ve been teased about it for years and with the news of it possibly being released next year there is a possibility we may actually get to see a gameplay trailer and perhaps grasp an idea of what to expect in this upcoming exploration focused Mass Effect. We know we’ll be seeing some news about Battlefield 1, with EA showing us a beautiful trailer of this FPS going back in time to visit the World War 1 era. Many fans, old and new, are strongly looking forward to seeing this game showed off at E3. Planned to be released later this year is Titanfall 2! This upcoming sequel to the Titanfall series is expected to excite old fans and bring in new fans as it’ll be much bigger and better than it’s predecessor.
Bethesda is coming back for a second round at E3, and it’s likely we will hear about their upcoming Dishonored 2. Arkane Studios have mentioned so much news about Dishonored 2, and it’ll be quite the honor to see some new footage of the game. It will possibly focus on Corvo this time around despite the game’s focus on not-so-little Emily Kaldwin. There is a possibility of seeing more news about Battlecry as well. Perhaps we will get more information about its beta or even a possible expected release date. There hasn’t been much said about Battlecry thus far so perhaps our questions about it will be answered at E3. We also have not heard anything about an Elder Scrolls 6. However, we can all hope and dream that there is a possibility of a 6th installment being in the works. After the release of Fallout 4, there have been small hints about a possible Fallout game by Obsidian Entertainment. They have mentioned they wouldn’t mind continuing to make more Fallout games and they’ve recently beefed up their team by obtaining a new staff member who was used to design levels for Diablo.
Gears of War 4 is one of the, if not biggest game most people want to see more of at Microsoft’s Conference. So far, there has been a multiplayer beta, the release date of October this year, and we’ve seen many trailers of this game. Chances are we’re going to be hearing about a collector’s edition and see more gameplay trailers and multiplayer trailers to hype up the fans even more. Crackdown 3 is also some major hype for Microsoft and is slated to be released sometime this year. Microsoft may give us an actual release date along with information about a possible beta. We should expect to see some more gameplay trailers, showing the mass destruction that you can cause while saving citizens and taking down ruthless gangs and their leaders. There has also been mentions of new Xbox consoles from Microsoft, a slim version of the Xbox One and the Xbox Scorpio so we look forward to seeing those.
Earlier this year, it was reported that Ubisoft would put a halt on future Assassin’s Creed games and instead, continue working on the next Watchdogs 2. With Watchdogs 2 already announced and trailers revealed, we now know this game is on its way. Of course this means they’ll have much more to show at E3 to not only excite fans of the first game but bring in new fans as well. With The Division being only a few months old now, it’s likely that they will be announcing possible multiplayer DLC or expanded story DLC to the campaign mode. There is also hope for more news about the new Ghost Recon as well.
Sony had a lot to offer last year and there’s a possibility that there’s much more to offer again this year as they’ve grown and expanded their family a lot over the past few years. With Kojima Productions being apart of Sony, it is possible to hear about some news and what Kojima has in store for us, and not to mention with their recent reveal of their mascot, is it possible that that mascot is also apart of a game they may be working on. We were teased a mere few seconds of Kingdom Hearts 3 last year, so it’s possible that there’s more Kingdom Hearts to show, or simply just a few more teasers until Square Enix is ready to reveal what their fans have been waiting for. Square Enix has also teased us some Final Fantasy 7 remake footage, and it seems like the game is set to be released next year. Perhaps they will announce a release date along with a beautiful trailer that long time fans are waiting to see. Speaking of Final Fantasy 7, of course they will be showing Final Fantasy 15 as well. We’ve seen so much footage and images of Final Fantasy 15 so it’s expected that they’ll be showing more gameplay and trailers of the latest installment of the Final Fantasy series. Lastly, Shenmue 3 became a massive shock for dedicated fans of the Dreamcast Classic. It was heavily teased and even had a kickstarter that hit it’s goal of 6 million within hours after being announced at E3, so many certainly hope to see if this game will be in the works and if Sony will be speaking about it at the conference.
There’s a lot to be expected at the Nintendo Treehouse event. With the upcoming Monster Hunter Generations coming out this summer, Nintendo may show us a bit more of what to expect keeping us all excited for it’s release date. Zelda U is still something that we’re all very curious about and how will this new open world Legend of Zelda game will be different from it’s predecessors. We’re all waiting on our toes to see what Nintendo might reveal to us. Pokemon Go has been taking in Beta testers for their game recently, so of course Nintendo may talk about the results of those beta tests and talk about Pokemon Go and what future players are to expect from it. Pokemon Sun and Moon has also been released, exciting Pokemon fans everywhere and we should be seeing more footage of the upcoming game and of course possible collector’s edition of the 3DS’ that correspond with the games.
I expect news from Rockstar about GTAV DLC relating to the story mode and some details about GTA online as well. Also from Rockstar, we may see a possible Red Dead Redemption 2, which will cause quite the excitement at E3. More news about Call of Duty: Infinite warfare from Activision and perhaps a new trailer is to be expected. With Deus Ex: Mankind Divided to be released this year, we might be seeing more footage of it during the conference. More than likely we will see future updates for the latest Hitman game, and it’s next upcoming episode. Atlus has shown us a lot of beautiful teasers and trailers of Persona 5, so there’s hopes of more to be seen at E3. Team 17 recently showed a Yooka Laylee trailer which hyped up old school fans of Banjo & Kazooie and hopefully gained new fans. Capcom will be hyping up their newest Resident Evil 7 which is suppose to bring back the classic horror survival feeling we once had with these games, and hopefully there will be mentions of their newest Ace Attorney Spirit of Justice game for the 3DS. Tekken 7 has been out for some time now at arcades, and hopefully Namco will finally mention a console release for the game. Lastly, Telltale Games will have a presence at E3 to talk about its new Batman series, as well as the new season of The Walking Dead.
As usual there’s so much to see at during E3’s press conference, so what are you looking forward most to seeing this year?
