UFC Footage Unleashed
Dana White and the Fight Night crew finally gave fans of the undisputed UFC games a taste of what’s to come with new installment, EA Sports UFC. For the past few weeks EA Sports and Executive Creative Directer, Brian Hayes, have been feeding gamers bite sized pieces of CGI trailers and informational videos about the gameplay, career mode, and the pre-order bonuses including the revered, Bruce Lee. In less than a month away from release, EA uncovered actual gameplay details showing off the mechanics, presentation, and the undeniable jaw-dropping graphics.
Could This Be The Best Looking Current Gen Game So Far?
After watching every single trailer and looking at many screen shots, I was in awe, yet skeptical. E3 2013 gave me hope that maybe they wouldn’t mess this already successful franchise up since the THQ consolidation, but EA has already disappointed me greatly this generation with the Battlefield 4 fiasco, the “copy and paste” Madden 25, and that atrocious NBA Live 14. However, EA Sports UFC makes me believe EA won’t detour the franchise because of the involvement of Creative Director Brian Hayes. If you are a fan of the Fight Night series then you know Brian Hayes doesn’t play around. All of the Fight Night games pushed consoles to the limit – especially Fight Night: Round 3 and their last installment, Fight Night: Champions, which added a nice story line to the career mode.
As you can see from the photos, visually, the game is stunning. The animations, hair, jaw lines, skin tones, and expressions add a new energy to the series. I would argue that this is one of best looking UFC games of all time. I would argue that this is one of the best looking games of all time. If you are familiar with UFC, you’ll notice that the characters’ facial animations are some of the best and it will be quite scary to see what the next few installments may look like. I think this game is going to show gamers what EA’s Ignite engine can really do and also demonstrate to developers what’s possible with the brand new engine. EA Sports UFC has a graphical edge as its only focus is on the current generation. This is the beginning of things to come as developers will ultimately decide to leave last generation consoles behind and start to work solely on the PS4, Xbox One, and may be even the Wii U.

The UFC roster this year is enormous. The addition of new comers, seasoned veterans, and female fighters push EA Sports UFC into the right direction and opens doors for popularizing female MMA fighters – adding a dash of versatility.
