In Los Angeles on the evening of March 30, 2016, Square Enix held an “Uncovered: Final Fantasy XV” event, revealing tons of news and announcements for the highly anticipated PlayStation 4 and Xbox One game.

Square Enix has confirmed the release date of Final Fantasy XV to be September 30, 2016.

FFXV’s Platinum Demo is now available for download on the PlayStation and Xbox Games stores. In the demo, the player explores the dreamworld of Noctis as a child. Noctis is accompanied by the summon Carbuncle. Although the demo’s content will not be in the full game, players who complete the demo will receive Carbuncle as a summon in the main game.

FFXV is also getting a mini anime prequel series called Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV. It focuses on Noctis’ friendship with Prompto, Gladiolus, and Ignis. The anime will have five episodes, with a sixth episode that will be exclusive to the game’s Ultimate Collector’s Edition. The first episode is already available to watch on YouTube, and each episode will be gradually released as the game’s release day approaches.

There will also be a CGI film called Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV, starring Sean Bean and Lena Headey, known for their roles in Game of Thrones, as well as Aaron Paul, known for his role in Breaking Bad. Sean Bean will play King Regis, Lena Headey will play Princess Luna, and Aaron Paul will play the soldier Nyx. The film will revolve around Niflheim’s attempt at stealing the world’s last crystal from the kingdom of Lucis. Kingsglaive will be released for digital download and streaming before FFXV.

Square Enix also revealed FFXV’s deluxe and collector’s editions. The Deluxe Edition of the game will be $89.99 and will include a steelbook case featuring Yoshitaka Amano’s art, bonus outfit, bonus weapon, and a skin for the car. The Ultimate Collector’s Edition will be $269.99 and will include a hardcover artbook, exclusive Play Arts Noctis figure, four in-game item packs, the Brotherhood anime on disc with the exclusive sixth episode, as well as all of the content that comes with the Deluxe Edition. There will only be 30,000 copies of the Ultimate Collector’s Editions worldwide, and they will only be available for purchase through the Square Enix Online Store.
