Gaming Release Guide: Jan-Mar 2014


Winding down for the year or gearing up for finals? Well forget about that because there are some big games coming out in the beginning months of the new year! Here is a quick guide to the big blockbusters that will be out. Get your pre-orders in soon! 



Assassin’s Creed III Libration – coming January 14th for Windows and to PSN (Playstation Network).

The Banner Saga – Also coming out January 14th for Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, XBLA (Xbox Live Arcade), and PSN.

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z – is coming for January 28th to North America for PS3 and Xbox 360. It is also for PS Vita, but as a download only title. A pre-order with Gamestop/EB Games will score you an exclusive Super Saiyan Bardock code as well as the day-one edition with an exclusive Naruto Shippuden costume.

Earth Defence Force 2025 – on February 4th for Xbox360 and PS3. The pre-order for this game will get you an exclusive Air Raider DLC pack.

Bravely Default Flying Fairy – coming February 7th for 3DS!

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII – is out on February 11th for PS3 and Xbox 360. There are two pre-order costume bonuses that come with this game, a samurai one and one modelled after Cloud’s Final Fantasy 7 look, complete with Fanfare music when equipped.

Toukiden – February 11th, only for PS Vita here in NA.

One Piece: Romance Dawn – also Feb 11th only for 3DS. If you like you can upgrade your pre-order for free to the limited edition which makes your game come with an individual number and holographic front.

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc – Feb 11th for PS Vita in NA

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare – February 18th for Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 – coming out on February 25th for Windows, PS3 and Xbox 360. Pre-order this game from Gamestop/EB Games and you can get an exclusive Dracula Armour skin. The Limited Edition however, has more goodies, with an art book, game soundtrack and special packaging.

Tales of Symphonia Chronicles – Feb 25th for PS3. Note: There is a collectors edition available, check with your local Gamestop/EB Games to pre-order ($99.99).

Thief – Feb 25th for Windows, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The pre-order for this game will get you an extra exclusive mission in-game.

Professor Layton and the Azra Legacy – on February 28th only for 3DS.



South Park and the Stick of Truth – March 4th for Windows, PS3 and Xbox 360. Note: the ‘Grand Wizard Edition’ comes with a 6 inch Cartman Wizard figure and a ‘hand-drawn’ map of the town ($79.99)

Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z – also on Mar 4th for Windows, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Atelier Escha and Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky – is out on March 11th only for PS3.

Dark Souls II – also on March 11th for Windows, PS3 and Xbox 360. The ‘Black Armour Edition’ comes with a metal case and soundtrack, where as the Collector’s Edition has a 12 inch Knight Figure with its own display box, hardbound art book, full-colour game map (that you could put on your wall easily and it would look good), and the metal case with the soundtrack ($119.99).

Titanfall – also comes on Mar 11th for Windows, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. There is a collectors edition of this game as well. It comes with 18 inch tall Titan figure with diorama, a hard cover art book that has over 190 pages, a full size schematic poster of the Atlas Titan, oh, and the game ($249.99…ouch).

Blazblue: Chrono Phantasma – is out March 14th only for PS3. Note: Limited edition comes with an art-book and Rachel Alucard Chibi figure.

Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD Remaster – will be released on March 18th for PS3 and for PS Vita separately (both games will be sold separately, rather than the PS3 version that has both on the same disc).

Infamous: Second Son – March 21st, only for PS4. The free upgrade to limited edition comes with a foil cover and ‘Cole’s Legacy’, a mission DLC that lets you see what happened between inFamous 2 and Second Son. Upon completing the mission you get Cole’s jacket. The collector’s edition comes with this and exclusive cover art work, replica Delsin beanie, 8 pins from his in-game vest, Unified Protection patch, vinyl decals, and an in-game vest ($79.99)

  • The only two games that I know of for a fact that I will be picking up is Titanfall and FFX HD. I can’t wait for both of those games. Also would like to point out that FFX HD will also be on the PS Vita, as that’s what I’ll be getting it on. One of my gaming wishes was to have FFX on the go and that wish has now been granted lol
