The moment we’ve all been waiting for is one step closer to becoming official! Through witnessing the ending of Half-Life 2 with buoyant eyes and exploring even further into the Orange Box playing away our sorrows in many more of those fantastic Valve titles, we’ve still been waiting for Half-Life 3. The internet has been longing for it; many eagerly waiting for the series’ reprisal. It’s been 10 years since the world has experienced Half-Life 2 and we want more.
At last we’ve been able to learn a little bit more information on the progress of the game. Recently, Counter-Strike developer, Le Minh spilled some beans about the progression of Half-Life 3 during a GoRGNtv twitch podcast, and even mentioned a little bit about Left 4 Dead 3! Let’s take a look.
“I don’t think I can talk about that, to be honest, but I think it’s kind of public knowledge, that people know that it is being worked on. “
“I guess I could say that I did see something that looked kinda like in the Half-Life universe. And I mean it wouldn’t surprise anyone if I said they’re doing it, they’re working on it, yeah. So to go on a limb I’d say I did see some concept art for Half-Life 3.”
Minh sounded pretty excited to share this news. Not only did he just restore hope into our hearts with this info bomb on Half-Life 3, but he also adds in a little tidbit on Left 4 Dead 3.
“I saw it, it looks great. I was really excited when I saw that, I was like ‘wow, this looks great’.”
Now all we really want is for this information to be true. I’m hoping and praying that this is true because anything that Valve makes is pure gold. I’ve been a fan of the Half-Life series since the beginning. I have fond memories of searching for GameFAQs guides through my excruciatingly slow dial-up connection in order to finish the game. Trust me. If this Left 4 Dead 3 info is true, I’m going to go crazy! I can’t ever get enough of either series.
Even though our hopes have been lifted, we would still need an official announcement instead of just hearsay. Oh E3, please surprise me with something wonderful. Oh Valve, why do you tease us so? It’s been nearly 10 years since Half-Life 2, so it’s possible they’ll wait for the 10 year anniversary to officially announce the good news. If that’s what they’re waiting for, I can’t think of a better time to give us what we’ve been wanting. While they’re at it, I wouldn’t mind a Portal 3 as well.
Is it a coincidence that all of these games we’re waiting for end in “3”? Take these findings with a grain of salt, it could just be wishful thinking.
