In case you guys have not noticed, I am officially BEYOND stoked for Fusty Game’s/Midgar Studios’ Hover: Revolt of Gamers. This futuristic parkour-inspired free runner has been picking up tremendous steam and at alarming rate. Reaching its initial $38,000 base goal in the first 2-3 days was just the beginning. Now with $81,483 funded and 2,479 backers, it’s safe to say that Hover: Revolt of Gamers just may reach that Wii U goal after all being one of the few games that actually utilize that big, beautiful gamepad.
Goals Reached Thus Far That Excite Me
1) $60,000 – Soundtrack by Hideki Naganuma
- Anyone who is a fan of video game music should be stoked for this! One of the most prolific names in video game music has agreed to work with Fusty Game on the soundtrack for Hover: Revolt of Gamers. This is a huge compliment for the small three person team and fans of the game’s inspiration – Jet Set Radio. This game is shaping up to be the most ambitious crowd-funded project yet. The wait is literally killing me. I’ve been talking about this game almost daily and even getting my friends into the frenzy.
2) $80,000 – Bigger City and an Added District
- The bigger the playing field the better. I was already impressed with the city just from the gameplay footage on the Hover Steam Greelight page and Kickstarter trailer, but now that this goal has been reached, they’ll be making the city even bigger, working twice as hard. Adding a whole entire district can give a game like this limitless possibilities. I can’t wait to traverse the large metropolis in this seizure inducing setting.
Since Hover: Revolt of Gamers has already reached it’s base goal, that means that PC, PS4, and Xbox One gamers will be able to get their hands on this game soon enough. There is an alpha version planned for PC before the full, finished game is released.
Hover: Revolt of Gamers is the pure definition of a small team showing us what games are all about – fun. And I’m pumped.
