lara_garb_stills_07Square Enix revealed yet another costume that is going to be downloadable content for their quickly approaching, Final Fantasy: Lightning Returns. This time, it’s Tomb Raider related.

Tomb Raider’s more shiny version, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, made its way onto Playstation 4 just last week (January 28th in NA). As a result, there will be a Lara Croft costume available as DLC after the game releases. The video showing off this newly revealed costume is below:

As you can see in the video, the outfit includes the axe from the game, the riot shield, as well as a sort of ‘signature pose’ when winning a battle in the Lara Croft garb. This is typical of all the costumes so far where Lightning takes on the charactertistics of the person she is dressed as – kind of like Yuna in Final Fantasy X-2 where her dress-spheres have some soul to them.

So far, Lightning Returns has been celebrating and acknowledging other Final Fantasy titles such as, Final Fantasy VII (Aerith and Cloud), Final Fantasy XIV Online (Mi’quote cat), and Final Fantasy X/X-2 (Yuna Summoner, Yuna Sphere Hunter) through alternate costumes. This is the first costume for the game that does not feature a character of another in the Final Fantasy universe. Also, just by looking at Final Fantasy XIII-2, with costumes from Mass Effect and Assassin’s Creed, we can expect there to be more costumes like this for Lightning later on.
