Dragon Age: Inquisition

If you’ve ever picked up a Bioware title you’re fully aware of the studio’s trademark morality systems. Who will you play? The no nonsense enforcer? The snarky savior? The genocidal jerk-face? It’s all up to you, and the consequences of your choices shapes aspects of the digital narrative the game provides. While Inquisition doesn’t disappoint in comparison to the company’s various other titles, even my most diplomatic and kindly of characters is still expected to fight and kill their way through altercations, with almost no alternatives ever given. So naturally I tried my hand at a pacifist run.

The holidays are perhaps the best time of the year for gamers. Black Friday has some of the hottest gaming deals of the year, and the best part about it is now everything can easily be purchased with the click of a button, rather than wrestling through throngs of eager customers. Here are some of the best Black Friday gaming deals happening this week.

In 2014, the hit series Dragon Age by game developer BioWare got its third installment. Dragon Age Inquisition was a massive success, earning over 100 “Game of the Year” awards. It has been a year since its initial release, so why are people still talking about the game as if it were its first day on the market? The answer is simple, really. Dragon Age Inquisition thrives in areas where other games seem to fall short. It provides an immersive storytelling experience that changes depending on just who exactly is playing the game.

Grab those gauntlets and wrench that wallet out from the depths of your chain-mail for the upcoming release of Dragon Age Inquisition! Bioware has been hard at work in the years following the release of Dragon Age II back in March of 2011 and gamers are expecting a polished sequel.

The first trailer released for Inquisition gives fans an idea of the expansive and detail-oriented scenes in which they will be exploring. The flaming swords and glowing palms are looking pretty cool too!

Fans searching for a Dragon Age fix prior to the release of Inquisition should look into the free-to-play browser game The Last Court. The game is soon to be released by Failbetter to bridge the painfully long gap between Dragon Age II and Inquisition. Associate writer Chris Gardiner recently released an update for fans and in this, he writes, “Working with Bioware has been something Alexis and I have dreamed of since we used to build modules in Neverwinter Nights. Or maybe even earlier, around the time Sarevok killed Gorion. Damn you, Sarevok. We can’t quite believe it’s actually happened.” Failbetter released early access passes to a select few fans for initial testing purposes. These were AbilityDrain, GamerMD83 and LadyInsanity.

photo fire_zpsa92d4ff9.jpgInquisition will feature an open-world format, now a gaming norm, as well as a new and improved system of interaction which will allow characters to develop bonds with one another. The choices made by the player will not only affect their journey but also the physical environment in which they explore.

The three main races available in both Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II, human, dwarf and elf will remain options in Inquisition with the highly anticipated addition of the Qunari. These silver-skinned behemoths are not only intimidating but their “body, mind and soul” triumvirate is the epitome of awesomeness. Plus they have horns; horns are cool.

In all seriousness, the game is looking to be a perfect pickup for gamers looking to continue their adventure in the realm of Thedas. However, I’d caution those who are looking for any ground-breaking advances. While Bioware did announce that much of the games features would be heavily influenced by titles such as The Elder Scroll V: Skyrim, they caution not to expect a world quite as open.

Dragon Age: Inquisition

A new Dragon Age: Inquisition trailer showcasing new and stunning environments has been released. The environments look very beautiful and are quite a big step up from the previous Dragon Age games which weren’t very graphically impressive, even at the time. The game is scheduled to come out this fall for Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Take a look.
