If the internet has taught me one thing; it’s that some people really do love to point the finger at videogames. Whenever a news article about videogames surfaces the internet, there is a high consistency in which videogames are criticized and being put to blame; especially when it comes to violence. If videogames were part of a killers hobbies, the media makes sure we know about it. Never mind gun control or the mental state of the perpetrator because it was the videogames fault, right? This is nothing new to us. As gamers, we have seen these stories pop up now and again but what about when the story doesn’t involve violence at all?

Destructive Creations has released a trailer for its new PC game Hatred, due out next year and let’s just say it’s causing a whole lot of controversy. People are not taking too kindly to its mass murder theme, where it has the player kill innocent people on a murderous rampage for one reason: hatred for humanity.
Last week a tragic act of violence occurred in Slaughter, LA, where an 8-year-old boy shot and killed his grandmother, 87-year-old Marie Smothers, whom was his caretaker at the time. Police report that Smothers was watching TV when the 8-year-old picked up a .38-caliber handgun and shot her.
