Zelda Wii U May Not Release In 2015

This isn’t the biggest surprise but it doesn’t soften the blow to hear this news. All Zelda fans around the world have let out a sigh; either of relief because more time is being put into the next Zelda or of disappointment because it’s looking like Zelda for the Wii U will most likely not be coming out this year.

In a development progress update video, Nintendo and Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma announced that the developers are “not making a 2015 release a priority.”  Because they are discovering new things possible in the open world planned for the next Zelda, new ideas are springing forth and they want to focus on making it the best it can be.  Not only that but Nintendo also announced on twitter that Zelda for the Wii U will also not be making an appearance at E3 this year.

Now, this is actually a little surprising. I thought we’d at least see something footage despite the news of a probable delay. Being someone who really craves a new console Zelda, I can’t say all of this news doesn’t disappoint me. However, Nintendo are masters at polishing and handling their exclusives with tender love and care so a lot of good can come out of this.  Sadly though, for someone like me wanting a reason to finally buy a Wii U, that reason will continue to wait. The big question now is will Star Fox follow suit and be delayed as well? Time will tell.

How do you feel about Legend of Zelda for the Wii U not making an appearance at E3 this year as well as it being delayed? Tell us!
