Harley-Davidson LiveWire One Motorcycle is a cheaper e-hog
The LiveWire Harley-Davidson brand of electric motorcycles wins a new model more affordable, with the Livewire, the hope of bringing new riders on board. Iteration of the original Livewire, although to cut significantly its price tag, the Livewire One will be a show of the show with the new autonomous electric bicycle dealers.
The original Harley-Davidson Livewire was definitely a long time. Previewed in 2014, finalized in 2018, then at a high price in 2019, its sticker of $ 29,799 posed out of all, except the most impatient EV adopters.
Harley-Davidson promised that more affordable models were in the pipeline as part of his Livewire rotation earlier this year. The autonomous electric motorcycle brand would be able to target the young demographic of the riders who have proved resilient to the traditional charms of Harley, the company suggested. It would also act as a technology incubator, developing new EV transactions that can be used in the coming Harley models.
In the case of the new Livewire One, it will begin at $ 2199; Federal tax incentives can bring this to less than $ 20,000, the company says. Your money gets 105 horses and 86 lb-ft of torque, and of course the couple comes from taste. 0-60 mph should take 3.0 seconds, says Livewire, and 60-80 mph in 1.9 seconds. The maximum speed is 110 mph.
As for the range, Livewire says it should make 146 miles of riding in the city or 70 highway driving miles. The DC fast charging bracket will take the battery flat at 100% in one hour. If you only have a regular output of 110V, a full charge takes about 11 hours.
There is no scratch of technology, as you wait. This includes both an improved anti-braking anti-braking braking system (C-ABS) and the improved angle (C-TC) traction control system, which holds both how you’re looking at the motorbike. Livewire included a 6-axis sensor to follow that.
There is also a drag-and-twist sliding control (DSCS) that helps traction, especially at low speed in wet or slippery conditions. Four trailers – sport, road, beach and rain – Adjust the different settings accordingly, and there is a custom mode setting in which factors such as power, accelerator and regenerative braking available can be changed. Traction control can also be adjusted on three levels.
It is built around a new molded aluminum frame with a 58.7 inches wheelbase and a 54% weight bias. There is a SFF-BP Showa SFF-BP fork and a BFR rear shock, both adjustable.
On the connectivity side, there are both built-in Bluetooth and LTE radios, to broadcast music and navigation on the 4.3-inch touch screen. It also feeds the application of Livewire, which shows a location for Livewire, alerts and recharge status.
The big question, of course, is whether this new price is low enough to convince riders that electrification is a legitimate option. Although cheaper than the original Livewire, the Livewire One always carries a premium compared to other motorcycles and the Harley-Davidson call for young potential owners remains uncertain. Preamers open now, with sales initially in the United States. An international launch will follow in 2022.
