Amazon hopes to trace your sleep habits with radar
The latest Google nest hub might not be the only device to track your sleep using radar. Bloomberg reported that Amazon had received the neglect of the FCC to let it use a 60GHz radar for tracking sleep. Like Google, you can check sleep problems without having to wear a device like a hello band.
This technology can also be used for movement navigation, especially for patients with mobility or speech disorders that will prevent them from using conventional commands. Amazon is not ashamed of drawing comparisons to Google – the company quotes the radar pixel 4 when asking for neglect.
Amazon does not provide many instructions on products that will use radar tracking, but describes the device as “non-cellphone.” In other words, they are more likely to be an echo device that monitors your break from your nights.
It is uncertain when Amazon can send hardware equipped with radar, even though the Echo Show has recently been launched without the equipment it shows you can wait a while.
Amazon has a strong incentive to update the device line. Above competition with Google, the internet giant makes a big push into health between Halo and services such as Amazon Pharmacy. Radar-based sleep tracking can make a valuable health equipment echo, not just a practical friend to play music or control your smart home.
